Your Complete Guide to Loveland’s 2017 Independence Day Celebration


The community celebration will begin at 4 p.m. and wrap up at 11 p.m. The festivities are located in Historic Downtown Loveland. If you can, try to walk or bike to the community celebration to help ease traffic congestion.

Kid Zone
Children’s activities will be available in Nisbet Park from 4 to 7 p.m.  Featuring Magican and Comedian Matthew David Stanley.  Check back for more details.

Food Trucks
Food Trucks will be at the event from 4 – 11 p.m.

  • Adena’s Beefstroll, little taste of Chicago, will be at Cappy’s Wine and Spirits
  • Quite Frankly, Gourmet style All Beef Franks, Fresh Ingredients & Mad Crazy combinations at Cindy’s Friendly Tavern
  • Fire on High will offer a variety of gourmet burgers, signature subs,tacos, wraps & comfort foods, all locally sourced and seasonally inspired, and can be found near City Hall.
  • Loveland Dairy Whip at Nisbet Park
  • Sweet Maize Kettle Corn at Nisbet Park

The parade route will start at the Loveland Elementary School, 600 Loveland Madeira Road, travel down W. Loveland Avenue, and end at Second Street/St. Rt. 48.  Lineup begins at 6:15 p.m. and the parade will start at 7 p.m.

Families, groups, and businesses are welcome to participate in the parade.  We have created a parade category list to increase the quality and enjoyment of the parade.

  • Adults and children dressed as their favorite superheroes

  • Corporate, Neighborhood, Church, Golf Cart, and Family Floats
  • Classic and Custom Cars.

NEW! Parade Wet Zones
This year the Loveland Symmes Fire Department will help us create wet zones during the parade.  The wet zones will be at the intersections of Wall and W. Loveland and Riverside Drive and W. Loveland.

Live Music
The Michael Christopher Band will perform in the Amphitheater in Nisbet Park from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

DJ Dustbunny will be playing from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. in front of City Hall.

NEW! Cornhole Tournament
Two-player teams will compete in a bracket-style competition beginning at 4 p.m. Registration is $20 per team, and all proceeds will be donated to those effected by the fire in the 200 block of W. Loveland Avenue.    Teams are encouraged to make up creative names for the competition.  The following prizes will be given: 1st Place, $100; 2nd Place, $50; 3rd Place, $25.  Contact Misty Cheshire at to register.  The deadline to register is June 30.

Jackson Street Market
Vending areas including: Glow Crazy items, henna tattoos, flower crowns.

The fireworks show produced by Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. The show can be viewed from around the downtown area, including Nisbet Park.  Other locations to watch fireworks include: Shopper’s Haven, Loveland High School, Bodley Park on Betty Ray Drive, Bible Believers Church, and near the intersections of Park Avenue & Riverside Drive.
