In May of 1992, the Loveland City Council unanimously and enthusiastically approved the design for Veterans' Loveland Memorial Park to be constructed at Riverside Drive and West Loveland Avenue. This city park, dedicated to the nation's veterans, is a place of enduring significance; a place where city's residents and guests may pause to remember the men and women who have honorably served in the country's military branches.
A substantial portion of the park is reserved for 9,000 individualized commemorations of veterans. These commemorations consist of permanent inscriptions on 12" by 12" by 2 1/4" thick cast concrete Memorial Pavers which constitute the north, east, south, and west sections of the park concourse. All veterans, alive or deceased, from Loveland or elsewhere, who have ever served in any of the military branches of the United States, may be commemorated on these pavers.
