The City of Loveland undertook a $793,000 combined water, sanitary sewer, and storm water project on Maple Avenue in 2005.  The project started in the summer of 2005, and was funded in conjunction with the Metropolitian Sewer District (MSD).

On May 16, 2005, the City hosted a neighborhood meeting to provide conceptual information to residents in this neighborhood and listen to their concerns and issues.

Project Update (7/21/05):

The City’s contractor has finished installing the water main and water service laterals on

Maple Avenue
.  The new 24” sanitary line is installed up to the Bike Trail.  Work will begin on Monday to lay the sanitary line through
Maple Avenue
, and the jack and bore under Lyons Bridge is expected to start in two weeks to tie into the existing sanitary line on SR 48.  To facilitate the final stages of the sanitary line, S.R. 48 will have to be closed down to tie into the existing sanitary sewer line.  There will be notice in advance of the S.R. 48 closure whereas residents and commuters can be made aware of the closure.   Since the roadway is narrow and the sewer is going down the center of
Maple Ave
, residents will have limited to no access to there homes from the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.  The City is recommending residents park at Nisbet Park near the bike path and walk to their homes during these hours.  We will work with the residents of Maple to accommodate any special circumstances they may have and to minimize this inconvenience.  The dates the City is recommending residents to park at Nisbet are from July 25th through August 5th.  These dates may change depending on weather.  Once the sanitary sewer is complete the contractor will reconstruct the roadway and pave the project.

Project Update (7/11/05):

The City’s contractor is currently installing the water main on

Maple Avenue
and should be finished July 13th.  Once the water line is installed and passed all the testing they will begin replacing the old water services to the new water main.  When the contractor installs the individual water services, the residents can expect approximately a 30 minute shut-off other their water.  The contractor will notify the residents before the water is shut-off, and they will work with each resident to accommodate any special circumstances so as to minimize the inconvenience of the connection of your home service to the new water main.
