Press Release: Loveland Residents Recycle More than Ever in 2010

The City of Loveland is very interested in protecting our environment. We are proud of the beauty of the Little Miami River that passes through the heart of our city, the beautiful and clean parks, neighborhoods and fresh clean air.

You can help do you part by recycling. We offer many ways for you to participate in the effort, including ordering your own recycle bin for free curbside recycling, using the recycling bins near City Hall and off Karl Brown Way, or while visiting Nisbet Park, or participating in the yard waste recycling program by dropping off yard waste in the bins near City Hall.

Trash Removal: The City contracts with Rumpke for trash collection for its residents.

Curbside Recycling: Is voluntary for residents and is FREE of charge and provided by Rumpke. Anyone needing a recycle bin should call (513) 683-0150 to request one or to order online click here. Bins are delivered by the City Public Works Department and is generally done so at the beginning of each month.

Recycling Drop-Off: is available for residents who are not able to utilize curbside recycling. Drop-off locations include City Hall and Karl Brown Way. Please DO NOT DUMP! For a list of acceptable items, click here. (212.57 kB).

Yardwaste Drop-Off Program:

The City of Loveland provides brush pick up two times a year in March and November. For more information, click here. If you miss the brush pick up, you can drop off brush at Evans Landscaping throughout the year.
Location: Evans Landscaping, 9700 East Kemper Road
Dates: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Details: Stop by City Hall with proof of residence and receive a free voucher to drop-off yard waste

Composting:

Loveland promotes and encourages composting as it has many environmental benefits including the reduction of waste entering nearby landfills.

Computer and TV Recycling Drop-Off Program:

Location: 2trg- 11085 Kenwood Rd., Blue Ash, OH 45242

Dates: Monday – Friday. May 2 – Oct. 31, 2011. 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Open ONLY two Saturdays. June 18 and October 15. 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Details: Only Hamilton County residents are eligible to participate. Please bring proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill. Items from businesses, churches and non-profits will not be accepted. Items accepted free of charge include CPUs, monitors, printers, televisions, fax machines, main frames, laptops, mice, keyboards, speakers, scanners, personal copiers, cables, printers, chips, circuit boards, back up batteries, cell phones and PDAs.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop- Off Program:

Compost Bin and Rain Barrel Sale:

Date: Saturday, May 14, 2011. 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Details: Only Hamilton County residents are eligible to participate. Limited quantities of discounted FreeGarden ™ rain barrels and FreeGarden™ compost bins will be sold at the sale. Compost bins will be sold for $35 and rain barrels will be $50. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. Compost bins are made from 100% recycled content, can fit in any car for easy transport and require no difficult assembly.

LSCD Abitibi Paper Retriever Program:

Loveland City Schools are participating in a recycling fundraiser that allows residents to recycle paper at every school in Loveland. Large green and yellow bins are located outside each school for paper to be recycled. The more paper recycled, the more the schools earn! Please help by recycling your paper in the bins....every page counts!

LCSD TerraCycle Juice Pouch Recycling Program:

Loveland City Schools are also involved in the TerraCycle Juice Pouch Brigade which collects Capri Sun, Honest Kids and Kool-Aid juice pouches to be recycled. Each Loveland City School has a box in the cafeteria for pouches to be dropped off for recycling. Please be sure pouches are emptied with the straws removed.
